Western Michigan University – Student Recreation Center Pool

The scope of this project was to provide repairs to the bases of the columns in the Student Recreation Center Pool at Western Michigan University. The steel column bases had previously been repaired but the repairs were failing due to the continued corrosion of the steel thus causing the tile to loosen and, in many cases, fall off completely.

Our work included removing the existing stainless-steel bands, grout and tiles. After cleaning the exfoliated corroded sections of steel, we applied an epoxy coating to provide corrosion protection followed by relaying the tiles.
